Group discussions

Taking part as a group

Let’s Be Heard invites groups of people to share their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Let’s Be Heard Engagement Guide

If you would like to organise or support a group to tell us about their experiences of the pandemic in Scotland, we have an Engagement Guide to help you.

The Guide may also be useful if you are helping another individual to share their experiences.

The Guide is available in the “documents” section of this page, in English, large print, Urdu, Punjabi, Polish, Simplified Chinese and Gaelic.

If you need any of our materials in other languages or formats please contact us.

Who can use the Engagement Guide?

Anyone can form a group and use the guide, including:

  • people with a shared experience;
  • those with a shared interest or profession;
  • family groups; and
  • people who are brought together by a charity or civil society group.

The guide can be used to facilitate discussions during existing activities, standalone sessions or one-on-one conversations with individuals.

How to send us your experiences

After holding a group, you can submit a summary of your discussion to us by clicking the “TAKE PART” button below.

You can take part in a group discussion AND share your experiences as an individual. If you would also like to contribute individually you can use this online form.

Share an existing report

If you have already collected information about people’s experiences of the pandemic, you can share the report with us.

Available support

Members of the Let’s Be Heard team would welcome being invited to attend any group discussions you may be planning.

If we are able to attend, we can help facilitate discussions, take notes and hear people’s experiences. The level of the Let’s Be Heard team’s involvement is entirely up to the host group.

Let’s Be Heard can also offer financial support to those organising group discussions. Please contact us to discuss your plans and requirements with a member of our team.
